Food Marketing Made Simple: History

Yes,  Food Marketing Made Simple is our sister company, but we built this site and are proud of it.  It is a simple rebranding story.  Because our CEO and CTO have strong CPG backgrounds, many of our early clients were (and still are) food manufacturers.  But, being branders as well as technologists, we felt it easier just to spell it out in the URL --food marketers that make your life easy, so why not Food Marketing Made Simple?    It certainly had a nice ring to it, everyone could say it (yes, we know about Appdrenaline -- pronounced APP-dren-A-lin -- it seemed like a good idea at the time) AND the URL was available, so why not?

Logo (or how a blue berry became a cube)

I wish I could tell you that this was a deep soul searching experience where we all went up to Dharmsala and met with the Dali Lama in order to seek  his spirtual guidance for the design of the afore mentioned logo, but alas, Kris our CTO (who happens to be left brained as well as right brained) had at the time,  a toddler who was obsessed with Legos.  So, in a matter of minutes, Kris's desire for a "witty" logo inspired our block shaped fruit.  The design of afore mentioned logo was another matter indeed.  Our designer spent many weeks trying to stretch a blueberry over a cube with out much success.  So finally, admitting defeat, he took a photo and photoshopped it over a customized three-D vector based set of blocks that he too designed.  From scratch.  It took a long time and a lot of fruit.  But I promise, we will take the same time and care with your logo too.  Should you decide to hire us, with or without the fruit.

Initial Concepts

When one is designing one's own company website it can oft be a different process than if one is designing for a client.  Why?  Because you don't think you should be spending valuable client time during the day on  your website when you should be working on other, more important stuff.  So, many musings on the early design of FMMS happened at night.  2AM at night.  With a nice bottle of wine.  Here are a few of those late night inspired concepts, usually happened upon after many hours with i-stock, shutter stock and a whole lot of other stocks (many of which I've forgotten.)
